Yup, S10 5G here and it works.
It should with an OTG cable. iFi's OTG cable is the best I've tried and it's inexpensive. I've not tested it with the S10 because I don't have access to one. But it's hard to believe it wouldn't work because OTG is a pretty mature standard that most new Android phones support.
Bit late to the party but ordered the Black label today. First Ifi product for me.
Good start. I had to force myself to sell mine because my Hugo 2 and Pro iCan wasn't getting any head time. It’s that good to my ears. It also drove all the headphones I had at that time.
Once you use it for a bit, let us know please how you liked it!
Arrived yesterday and had a couple of hours to listen via my S10+ last night. So far very very impressed. Will post more impressions after more listening time.
I do however have questions that are probably a bit newbie like but I’m asking anyway!
1. I’m assuming for charging that something like my iPad Pro charger with a normal usb cable will suffice?
2. To connect to my iMac I’m assuming I need to buy a similar type of usb 3 cable used for charging?
3. To obtain the MQA coloured light I’m having to use USB Audio Player Pro, again assumption is that the Micro BL is limited by Androids ability to play certain sample rates unless using an app like UAPP?
Ok some real school boy errors on my part here.
I've read the thread more thoroughly and think I get it with power supply requirements for charging.
The cable for connecting to iMac etc I now realise is the blue cable in the box!
Last question still stands though.
Using the BL with Android I'm assuming limits the same rate to Androids limitations unless using UAPP which bypasses this?
Either UAPP or even free apps like HIby music and Fiio music which allow for use of external DAC. Also Neutron is a worthy contender to UAPP.
Got the iFi micro IDSD Black Label and it sounds as good as my Chord Mojo + Chord Poly (900€), but with much more bass (Xbass ON) which is really welcome to IEMs like the LCD-i4.
Going to sell my near brand new, 2 week old, Mojo+Poly, if anyone's interested, please PM.
Does any know where there is a detailed comparison between the iFi Micro iDSD Black Label and the FiiO A5?
I currently have the A5 and I'm powering an Abyss Diana V2.
$600 is a lot for a portable amp.. and I'm not really interested the bass boost or 3D effect.
Any opinions? Maybe I should just stick with the FiiO A5, or is there something a bit more expensive with more power?
Portability is the main factor here.
If portability is the main factor, you're going to have a tricky time find more power in a similar form factor to the A5. (And I would think if portability was the main factor, the Black Label would be right out, it's pretty large.
The Plussound Cloud Nine is rated to give you another 480mW roughly at 32 ohms. It's got a slightly smaller length/width than the A5, but is almost twice as thick. Runs on 2 9v batteries.
