The 1060 is the one to get.
Yep. I was trying the 1040 because I have that particular case for my CDM.

If the update is at the software level, most probably a renderer rather than a decoder, and a piece of other software will act as the decoder. IT shouldn't make any issues as long as that other piece of software does the decoding since it will still send the decoded digital data to iDSD BL and iDSD's very potent DAC will do the Digital to Analogue conversion
(I've been catching up with MQA)
Really glad iFi is looking into adding support for it!
You finally have all the items of your dreams!
Almost my friend
Sony nw-zx300 for the new toy syndrome and some 4.4mm cables
Nice, now all you need is to get some foam to make it even more secure like I have: See here
I use the Levenger Bomber Jacket Electronics Hold All Case for my iDSD Micro. Very nice protection and stylish.
That is exactly what i intend to do. Thank you for the link to your previous post.
I'm using Foobar2000 and ASIO.
How do I get audio to work outside of Foobar? Once I play music on Foobar, I'm unable to hear any other sound on my PC, even if I stop the song and quit foobar. The only thing I can do to hear sound from other sources (like youtube) is to disconnect the USB cable and reconnect it.
If you right click on your volume icon on the task bar and choose playback devices, you should be presented with an option to choose the desired device for playback. See if you can select your preferred device there and if that works.
It's set as my default device. I have the same problem with Musicbee, using the ASIO driver as output, seems like it's impossible to get sound from any other source on your PC. So it's not a player but driver issue it seems? I am using the latest driver for Windows 10 (V 3.20.0).
Which one is everyone using? ASIO or WASAPI? I thought ASIO would be better since IFI seems to support it more.
I use WASAPI and while i am playing my music either through Foobar2000 or MusicBee, I can hear all system sounds from the PC on the default speakers. I can even watch a movie on the PC and the song can still be playing to the BL and someone can listen to music at the same time. The music is played through the BL and the system sounds through the default playback device.
This is an ASIO/WASAPI issue. You will see this in any audio playback program that uses exclusive mode in windows.
You are running Foobar in exclusive mode. That will cause this sort of issue. If you close Foobar, change the output device in windows and change it back to the iDSD it should fix it. This is a "feature" *cough* bug in Windows.
