This big, bad, mean speaker has caught my eye, what is it and where can i find the plans for it...

I first saw it in the zigmahornet write up...

Cm: I get a 403 error, too - the pics seem blocked from external linking. You'd probably better name the project it belongs to...

Greetings from Munich!

Well, the driver looks to be a Fostex FE206ES-R:

That driver is either new or rare (it's certainly very expensive), so cabinet plans may be tough to come by. Do a search for FE206ES-R in the full range forum over at DIYAudio.com, there's a couple of threads there.

If you're willing to "compromise" with the regular FE206E, you'll find tons of plans:

...your post got me all curious. The design in question is the "Jericho Horn", originally published in the German DIY audio rag, Klang & Ton. Here's everything you need to know:

http://www.plasmatweeter.de/jericho.htm

...and here's step-by-step instructions in German:
http://www.onkelfitty.de/Hobby/Jeric...icho_horn.html

It originally used a Fostex FE108 Sigma, which is now out of production. I've read that current Jericho enthusiasts (which, evidently, are legion over in Germany) now use the FE206E (mentioned above) without the correction network in the original Jericho.

Now I really need to get back to work.

Iv read alot about the diff horn designs, and the arger drivers are pretty much made to get more bass and give up some midrange, obviouly YMMV, but thats kinda the over all idea. Somethign with the 126 might be better.
those do look cool tho.

Also the larger the driver, the worse the high-frequency beaming. The speaker designer who told me that said that 4.5" is about the largest he'll work with.
