Hey guys, I'm new round here, so be gentle.

I am in the market for some over-ear headphones to use round the house with my Zen Vision:M. I already own a pair of Shure SE210 for portable use, and they are great, so I am looking for something comparable to those in terms of sound quality, or better.

After doing a bit of research, I have got my eye on a pair of Sennheiser HD 280 Pro, or possibly the Ultrasone PROline 650/700. The HD 280 Pro are more in my budget range (I found a great deal on those for £64 - that's around $125), but I would be willing to make some compromises to afford the Ultrasone if the difference is huge. The Ultrasones are going to be more like £105 ($207), but I know I really shouldn't be spending quite that much. Do any of you guys maybe have any other suggestions?

The criteria I am looking at:

* They obviously need to be able to be driven reasonably well from a Zen Vision:M, and no pre-amp.
* They need to block out sound pretty well, and keep it in. I will mainly be using them to block out my girlfriend's terrible TV viewing schedule, and our TV runs through a fairly loud stereo system. I'll also be using them while hoovering occasionally, so you get the picture.
* I'll need to be able to walk around the house with them on fairly easily.
* They need to be suitable to use as monitors for my home studio recording.
* They need to be audiophile quality, even if it is just entry level. I enjoy the sound of my Shure SE210 IEMs, but I understand that you get a much 'fuller' sound from over-ear cans. I want these to be noticeably better than the 210s, otherwise there's really no reason to part with my cash.

My main concern with the HD 280 Pro is that they are now going for cheaper than I paid for the SE210s, although the RRP was higher. Is that significant, or do you just get more for your money with over-ear headphones?

I would really appreciate any advice you guys can give me, so thanks very much in advance. It's hard to find stores that give playtests here in the UK so I'm leaving it with you.

Sounds like you could use a pair of Audio-Technica ATH-ESW9 to be honest ^^ A bit over your budget though, but I can't really think of any better cans to fullfill your needs.
