Cyrille Aimée has a sweet, lovely voice and on her new album she sounds very intimate on the LCD-4.

Jane Monheit has a new release, The Songbook Sessions Ella Fitzgerald. This is the first release by Jane's own label,
Emerald City Records. Her voice is lovely on these modern interpretations of Ella Fitzgerald standards, with arrangements
production and trumpet (and other instruments) by Nicholas Payton.  This is a bit of a rough recording unfortunately, with some background hiss and clipping distortion in a few places on the voice track, as well as some mastering compression yielding an album DR of 10.

This recording of Igor Stravinsky's The Rite of Spring is one of my favorites, by Eiji Oue and
the Minnesota Orchestra. Its a very dynamic recording (DR16) and the bass drum is especially
prominent with visceral impact and an unusually long decay.

Another favorite is Lorin Maazel conducting the Cleveland Orchestra, a standout Telarc recording with a spectacular brass section.
I can't find it on YouTube but the CD is on Amazon.

Keith Johnson from Reference Recordings is simply one of the best engineers in the world.
I am sure that younger engineers, like Frans de Rond from Sound Liaison must have studied his recordings closely.
As an example compare the sound stage of Rite of Spring to After Silence same kind of depth and wide image.

 300B tube amp

which one?

Many people love the ECBA.  I know I did.  http://www.eddiecurrent.com/BA.html

Woo Audio makes the WA5 and WA lite (less money).  http://www.wooaudio.com/products/wa5.html  (WA5 maybe better for hard to drive headphones like HD800, LCD-4, HE1000)

There maybe other 300B headphone amps out there.

I'd go with Emission Labs 300B XLS tubes.

I have been listening to the Linn Internet Radio (320 kbps stream) through my Bryston BDP-1 via Logitech Media Server (which you can use to access many internet radio channels). They also have a Jazz channel and a classical channel. The material itself is great, even if the transmission is limited to 320kbps. Could be used to preview music and get it later on, or to have something playing in the background.

Massive Attack - Mezzanine

You'll probably recognize a few of these from popular shows (e.g. House, West Wing).

They look fantastic. But the prices.......anything approaching that quality in 1000$ range?
