Maybe this could work. Perhaps it is best if one of the other members who has been to one before comment on this room setup. Can you get more tables? and does it have plenty of outlets?

Also as a reminder, for those who can bring, please bring some extension cables just in case.

That might be a problem. If we connect power bars to all the outlets, assuming 6 per power bar thats only 24 outlets. Do you guys think that will be enough outlets looking at the list of equipment? Is it safe to string a power bar with a power bar?

  6. MickeyVee
That might be a problem.. assuming most people bring a laptop, one dac and one amp, that's three outlets.  Some may bring much more and there are the ones with IEMs and portable players that won't need any. I would say on average, at least two outlets per person.
Don't see a problem stringing power bars. On the other hand, the Schiit gear tops out at 35 watts for the amp.. my stuff may consume 50 watts. We could make it work.

Ok So it looks like meiaen's work place party room is in the front running!

Yeah stringing power bars together isnt a problem - the only reason it is not recommended is because it is EASIER to go over the safe limit for a single receptacle (1800W for most receptacles 2400W for a 20A receptacle). Also 4 outlets - 2 receptacles per outlet and you have 48 with a powerbar on each.

Forgot the other plug! lol how stupid of me

So now we have three possible locations. The 2 I found and meiaen's work place (bramalea near airport 15mins bus from humber college). I know some people are going to complain about the travel so lets see if other locations come up from some other people.

Well wherever it is I will be driving to it (provided it isnt on the march 23-24 weekend) and I can carry 4 other people. I am in the morningside/ellesmere area in scarborough and dont mind driving people there and back.

Yikes... :/ this seems really inconvenient for me. I guess i have to bail on this one, even though i really want to demo some high end gear T.T

I am in the major Mac/ Bathurst area. Can pick some people up, but am unlikely to Stay for the entire meet.

I am putting this link over here. I think YorkU have reasonably big classrooms or lecture halls with the plenty wall sockets. I think you can bring your drinks etc too. Check out the prices. Let me know what you guys think and I will be able to enquire further. I think parking on the weekends is free in some parking.

I have inquired about those rooms already when I was looking for a space. Time is limited on the weekends and you cannot bring drinks inside any of the classrooms.

Edit: Maybe I am referring to UofT and not York but inquire. I don't think it will be any different though.
