After many blissful years with my dream headphone setup, I'm very seriously considering moving to a full-range speaker system. Whether I do or not will likely depend on interest in/offers for this setup.

R10s were purchased brand new from Amazon in October of 2004 (I can provide documentation). I've truly babied them. Besides getting recabled for my SDS-XLR, they've never left my listening room. They go off my head and into my dedicated "listening" chair. I've never allowed anyone else to even touch them. They are as mint as mint can be for headphones that old. I've even cleaned and conditioned the leather and wood once per year. I have the case and all the original documentation/accessories. These are the bass-heavy versions and a very late serial number: 1181

L3000s were purchased slightly used from Audiogon perhaps 3-4 years later. Unfortunately, I don't have documentation for them since Audiogon doesn't go back that far, but I can provide pictures. They've been used very little. I bought them back when I was listening to rock/metal much more regularly than I have been the last several years. They are the brown (not green) edition. They're also near-mint

The SDS-XLR was custom built for the R10s/L3Ks and Qualias/SA5Ks (which I sold), bought I think in '06. Back when the SinglePower "scandal" went down I sent it to a reliable amp tech (Paul at Prodigital) to check it out and he said it was in fine working order except for one blown fuse. It does have some cosmetic issues; mainly scratches on the power supply and a few LED lights out, but other than that it's fine. It was the "maxed out" version that cost $13k when new. I may have the specs somewhere in my email. The amp was modded to accept tons of octal and nine-pin tubes (I've used 6sn7s, 6bl7s, 6bx7s, 5687s, 6385s/396As, 6cg7s, 6gu7s et al.), so tube rolling options are nearly limitless and I'd be more than happy to advise on the best combinations. It also works as a pre-amp, though I've never used it in this application.

I do have a pic of me and the SDS-XLR (and R10 case bottom right) here:

I'm looking to get somewhere between $13k-$15k for this entire setup, and I'm really hoping to sell the amp with one of the headphones, since the amp was tuned for them and loses a lot of value without them. Both headphones are recabled with 3-pin XLRs. The L3K was recabled by Alex at APureSound, R10 was recabled by Mikhail at Singlepower when I bought the SDS-XLR.

As a reminder, I'm not sure I'm selling these yet, so there's no use in lowball offers. If I can't get what I want for them I'll probably end up keeping them until they pry them off my corpse. :)

It's times like these I wish I had a nice 13k laying around... In all seriousness, you will regret selling this!! Keep it and buy the speaker system anyway.

The speaker system I'm looking at will cost about $35k (Legacy Whispers, Marquis Center, Expression Surrounds), so, unfortunately, I can't really afford to keep them if I get the speakers.

Well I wish you luck with the sale, R-10 + SDS-XLR, that's pretty much endgame for me right there. Unfortunately I absolutely cannot afford that, I will have to be satisfied with my SA5k + MPX3 for now.
