after several tips rolling, around 50 hours of burn in and this medium size wide bore silicon tips that's included in the package, I can finally say that the mix and match process is over for me. Fit is great and the treble details/sparkles that I've been looking for has finally came out without any signs of harshness.

Nice DAP you got there. I also got one and I like the synergy. Sadly, I think AUNE already abandoned support for the M1s.

Sorry for sidestepping the thread.. is it possible to attain DAP like quality from a Galaxy S8 by attaching a portable DAC/AMP combo? What would that be?

Yes. I have the S7 Edge (Exynos version) and I've been considering one. This thread https://www.head-fi.org/threads/fii...ptx-discrete-dac.850675/page-13#post-13932201 has made my mind up if I do decide to go ahead and make the purchase. If I do it will be the Fiio BTR1 for me. I was going to get the Dragonfly Black until I read that thread.

They get better?! I shall burn them in then  What do you use to burn IEM's in?

Thanks for the portable DAC info, didn't know they were in Bluetooth flavour. Nice, less wires to worry about.
For burn in you can use the log sine and pink noise from here https://www.head-fi.org/threads/free-burn-in-files.466827/
Use the headphones normally, and when you sleep let them play the two files in loop at a volume slightly above your regular. They will get better with burn in, 50-100 hours.

Impressions after about 50 hours of burn-in, mostly unattended, so psychological burn-in is not that much of a factor:

1. Faster low frequency, especially important for anything that has powerful bass, in my case dubstep-derived genres. Attacks more abrupt, releases less reverberant, so quick succession of activity in LF range produces more powerful and engaging effect.

2. Change in HF that is more difficult to describe, maybe less harshness and silkier reproduction, I still feel there's a bit a lack of the frequency that benefits the sparkle ofsignature clean Stratocaster timber, most likely just under 5k mark. The only complaint I have about IT01 at this stage, of only they had CH9T's sparkle (although I find slight relative uplift in upper range of HF quite pleasing).

3. Soundstage. Subtle yet to me most profound, with the right source (both music and DAC-amp), soundstage is not only wide, but also layered, reverb tails are natural and mostly I have this nice feeling of encompassing soundstage, that has the dimension of its own, expanding in the outer world, rather then limited to the space between my ears or earphones. High quality sonic hallucination here!

But the musicality of IT01 is fantastic and enjoyable!

Hi Ivan, I also had the same thought initially that I'm missing the sparkle in the IT01 like what I enjoyed a lot from CH9T. Until I have used a wide bore tips and the sparkle is even better than ch9t IMO. Just give it a try and listen to Kygo's Firestone... :)

What hydroid said, I think you're missing the sparkle due to fit.
I love how The Crystal Method - Thedubeliscious Groove () sounds on the IT01, listening to it flac. Oldie but goldie. If there was more sparkle it would be unpleasant.
The IT01 makes for an extremely fun & engaging listening experience, I find myself awkwardly smiling at times.

This one got me smiling just now.

After about 60 hours burn-in (unattended), I think the IT01’s sound has improved and has a punchier, quicker, more controlled bass, more forward upper-mids, and more refined highs. The soundstage is isn’t as wide as I’d like but it’s very forward - in a good way. I’ve settled on Spiraldot ear-tips which have a wide bore and isolate with a shallow ear insertion.

…Okay, let me get to the point, the IT01 are amazing for hip-hop and EDM! The sound signature is v-shaped with forward upper-mids and a killer low-end that goes down forever … well let’s just say you’ll be pleased. If I have one complaint it’s that I would have liked a shallower “V” (or even just a toned-down treble) - this is personal preference and because I think the IT01 becomes fatiguing during a long listening session.

I use the following track by Three 6 Mafia to gauge low end performance and I have to say I’ve never enjoyed the song as much as I did when listening to it with he IT01:

Overall, I still prefer the flatter sound signature of my GR07 BEs, but think the IT01s provide a different sound that’s more enjoyable for anything with a hard hitting bass.

I use an older Drum n Bass compilation that is roughly almost 4 hours long. I have my burn in station which consists of an old laptop loaded with music including my burn in Drum n Bass compilation. Connected to my old faithful Audinst MX2 dac amp and I just let it blast them drivers. Does the job every single time.

Just received my iBasso IT01 IEMs and they sound good out of the box - the bass is a a little too heavy and boomy but I'm sure it will improve with burn-in. ...Listening to Adel's Rolling in the Deep the bass kicking in at 1:00 feels good
They're definitely going to give my GR07 BE's a run for their money
Giving your GR07 BE's a run for their money, eh? Detail wise, and sound stage, who wins between the two?

I got a 200 dollar VISA gift card for Christmas, I've been debating between these 2 for ages now.

The GR07 BEs have better detail and slightly wider soundstage that is further away/more recessed. In an A/B comparison GR07 BE sounds more natural. However, the bass and sub-bass of the IT01 are on another level so if you mainly listen to hip-hop or EDM get the IT01s.

Yeah, they sound very sweet. Bass on these is pure pornography.
Seriously, they've ruined my DT 770 headphones for me!!!
