Hey everyone,

I bought the shure se535 special editions a while back. I use them with my Ibasso dx90 and i like them.
I put my ibasso dx90 on high gain which i believe is the best sound quality. My shure se535 are very sensitive (36 ohms and 119dB)
I have a few questions:
- Does the ibasso dx90 need an amp? (i can only buy the Fiio a5 because of money and location).
- Does the shure se535LTD need amplifying?
- If i buy the Fiio A5 should i put both devices on low gain?

I am afraid of blowing up my Shure's.

Thanks for the awnser in advance!

No you don't need an another amp for the SE535LTD if you already have the DX90. You should be using it on low gain too for the best sound quality. The SE535LTD is definitely sensitive enough to be powered on low gain. Adding unnecessary gain introduces noise.

I'm not sure if you can, but you should be setting the DX90 to a line out, if you do intend on buying the A5 as an external amp.
