I own both. The DX100 isn't worth the money. It actually sounds about the same level as the DX80 and 90. In any event, fw and other issues make ibasso daps bad value for money. I will steer clear from now on.

I like the dx100 - probably because I listened to modified!

Well, I have my DX100 now for 2 weeks. And all I can say is that I found the difference in sq/signature to be so big, that I put my good ol' DX90 for sale a few days later...
Funny how people can hear/judge things so totally differently :rolleyes:


Is HDP R10 (DX100 Japanese edition right?) even better than the ''normal'' DX100?
If so, what are the differences?

I find a significant difference in sound when comparing the DX100 to the DX90 and 80.

Btw Dx90 doesn't have this problem, no noise at all when switching songs or pausing together with mojo .
I think i found another possibile clue for the problem. No popping noise when playing songs in normal order.
When I switch to random (playlist or folder is the same) the popping noise appears .
So it seem to have something to do with random play .

Just bought mine still using 1.1.4.
I haven't had any issues the sound is fine.
Waiting for new FW.

I'm still on 1.1.4.  
I like the sound better. To me not sibilant like all the other FW's. of course: ymmv
I do miss the lock-function and the small bugs are, well, ehh, a small nuisance.

I thinking of reverting back to 1.3.3 as there would be no null issues and the sound was a bit better, Im one of the few who really does not hear any changes from one iteration to the next.
