Wow where did you get this gold plate? Looks insane!
Looks like it has been carefully painted. Nice touch. 👍

If you don't mind me asking, what was the cost for the 12ex mod?

I can't wait to hear from you about it.
I agree 100%. I love the UAPP ui. But the sound...
I agree with you! If I weren't so used to Neutron (and love the sound so much) I really do love UAPP UI, and Mango too for that matter.....

Giving Neutron a shot on the dx312. Ill report back soon on my thoughts compared to UAPP.
I can't remember the default Neutron settings but, for listening to flac files try:
  1. Look under Audio Hardware and select: "Follow Source Frequency"
  2. Under Playback > Resampling: select "Audiophile"
  3. Under Audio Hardware: Check the Frequency & Bits. Neutron does use 24 bit depth even for 16 bit flac files. I don't think it can use 16 bit.
Compared to PowerAmp and USB App, I find Neutron to sound the best. And there are other settings to play with such as: Playback "64-Processing" and Audio Hardware "Dither". Also default Sampling, etc.

However, since I mainly listen to my ripped CD's in flac, I still find the Mango OS to be superior to all three apps.

Could it be that MQA playback does not work (any longer) with UAPP after the last firmware update?
The app indicates that an in-app purchase is necessary.

The song plays correctly on my FiiO M11 Pro without the in-app purchase message appearing.

I it even possible to have MQA playback without the in-app purchase?

I believe so but from what I've heard it unfolds only once.

You could test it out and disable bit perfect and enable upsampling and play an MQA file. If the resolution is 384Khz then it's unfolding correctly. If not then you need the plug in. I purchased it anyways. I mean...it's $3.

UAPP is not fully functional with MQA in the DX300. It only does the first unfolding and it does by software, not using the DX300 capability for MQA.

For this unfolding, UAPP needs the MQA plugin.

Well, put me in the camp that prefers amp11.2 over amp12. I'm an IEM user first and it's not doing anything noticeably better and one thing noticeably worse.

Today I had the opportunity to do an extensive listening session with my dx312, my Hugo 2 and a TT2 (oh my God... my wallet was getting very nervous).

I was immediately surprised by how wooly and loose the deep subs sounded on the dx312. The H2, TT2 and SP2000t (listened to that as well for a while) had noticeably tighter and as a consequence subjectively deeper subs.

(Side note I listen to a lot drum'n'bass and dubstep, with a of 30-80Hz bass lines, so these thins gets pretty obvious pretty quickly).

I was so surprised, because that's not how I remembered my dx300. Came home and swapped back the amp11.2. Surprise surprise, much tighter and controlled subs.

Then I strongly recommend upgrading the Amp 12 to W. Then you have your tight basses with a lot of dynamics and all the advantages that the Amp 12 has over the MK ii.
