Hmm. I have the exact opposite experience with these DAPs..😊
Thats strange. The dx300 is the only dap where i have the knob active when the screen is off. So maybe all other daps ive tried were defective, who knows. But im not the only one who complained about the knob on the m9 or on the sp1k. Its a well known issue. It didnt bother me tho, just my observations. For me the knob can be bit loose, dont care, yet still on my dx300 is the most stable. But i agree with the visual design which isnt as nice as on the other daps.

The volume knob is on a shaft, the shaft goes through a collar on the body and connects to the actual volume control. Wobble or no wobble, it is just the shaft you are feeling and is very strong. Not so with some daps I have looked into. Some are made well and some not. I have never had an issue with the DX300 volume control but like anything, anything can happen.

So it seems yours is broken. The wheel on my dx300 is harder to rotate, so there is no need for me to deactivate it in the system as im not scared of changing the volume level accidentaly. It wasnt the case on the Shanling m9 (wobbly knob with practically no resistance), very wobbly knob on ultima sp2K, easy to rotate on the sp1kM.
Mine is not broken. It's like that from the first minute, like that of 2 other friends who bought it together with me. The wheel of the DX300 is embarrassing, period :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:
I've had the DX160 and its volume wheel is so much better, with more resistance and a better feel of control.

Hmm. I have the exact opposite experience with these DAPs..😊
Of course.

Interested in everyone's thoughts on the new Sony WM1AM2 and how it compares to the DX300 / DX320 (planned). Has anyone done a side by slide comparison? Getting the itch and have not seen any reference to how the models / sound profiles stack up

I have two albums I just downloaded in WAV format from Qobuz and have renumber them as 1 through 19 and 1 through 14 because they would not load in the correct order. But renumbering them didn't help either. Not sure what program to use to correct this issue. Any ideas?

Thank you. Now to learn how to use it. There is always that learning curve and too much to do with other things going on. Than you very much!
I use Mediamonkey for Windows. There is no learning curve. Just select all the tracks, right-click > auto tag from web (or file), and you can edit those tags on the fly (you can even add lyrics to the track). I like it because I can visually see and approve/disprove the changes made automatically.

That would be nice. But I have Mac computers.

Has anyone ever compared the dac of the dx300 to a good full sized desktop dac? Just curious?

For Line out purposes, the Dx312 is very desirable with clean and dynamic signature, and can be as good as any desktop DAC. It would be the amp that matters. I wouldn’t have problem using Dx312 as a source toward external amp. The only other DAP that outperforms this DX312 Line out is the N8ii, but it would be personal preferences. Both of them are excellent sources

I have the DX300 and the RME ADI-2 DAC FS, and although for IEMs both are very good, for headphones the RME is much, much better. And I am not talking about very demanding headphones, but for example with an Ananda or a Fostex TH-610.
I've even tried a HE6se v2 directly on the RME, or with the DX300 plugged into a Violectric amp that's considerably more powerful than the RME, and it sounds better on the RME.
