Am going to have a unit sent by Paul at iBasso and will return this unit

Customer care is that special sauce that makes big differences for many.
Things happen
Nobody remembers the beginning they just remember the end and this unfortunate start looks to end nicely.

but will they send you a specially checked one? You know triple checked so you don’t raise issues in a later review not just a plucked of the shelf average Joe retail version? Because that’s what I would do if I was iBasso.

I have product pulled from stock and sent as I have confidence in our QC without further inspection. Everything and anything can have issues. After that it is how customers are taken care of that really matters and like most any company, we strive for as few of problems as possible. Enjoy the Music!

Ibasso dx 160 or FIIO m11?

DX160 has larger soundstage, slightly better extension on both ends, larger scale of instruments, weightier and more organic midrange. They have similar detail retrival but DX160 is more composed and efortless. M11 sounds more technical and harder with zoomed in foreground and DX160 is more natural and even. I find DX160 as neutral and M11 colder and more analytical.

When it comes to usage M11 feels faster and smoother, both have great screens but the DX160 have more vivid colors where M11 screen have colder, blueish tint.

iBasso DX160 with filter 3 (@Whitigir review recommendation), low gain and the new Nick Cave album. Using Andromeda Gold.

A coherent dap, good ui (see my video posted earlier), great battery life for my style of use (Flac), allows the earphones to reach their sound stage potential (no joking), excellent layering and timbre.

*For the eagle eyes...iBasso DX220/amp 9, Campfire Audio Andromeda Gold, CA Andromeda V3, Shozy Pola 39, Meze Rai Penta, Campfire Audio Solaris with DD Hifi 2.5mm to 4.4mm adapter, DD Hifi carry case and smaller Shozy case. Plus lots of tips!
(Yes, at Starbucks again- i like the circular table with dark background).

Based on his review, he thinks that you should either get the M6 or DX160. He says that M11 isn't outstanding in the sound department and he would rather get M6 for system performance or DX160 for sound quality performance.

P.D: it seems that people in the comment section tend to preffer the DX160. They also agree that:
- For sound quality and screen: Ibasso DX160
- For system control fluidity: Shanling M6
- For portability: HiBy R5
- For build quality: iRiver SR15
- The economic one: Cayin N5 II
