As I said...everyone’s ears are different. For me...the DX150 wasn’t anything to write home about compared to the DX200, which was its big brother. Then the DX200-Ti came along and claimed the top slot as iBasso’s best release. A year later they released the DX220 which basically took the DX200 to a whole new level. My point is that everyone hears differently...but by all accounts the DX150 is very far behind the DX220 in the components department and the sound quality department.

Ohhh we’re talking abou HBB. LOL. He says that every single DAP out there is better than every single iBasso DAP lol.

Maybe, I dont know 220 or 200. But I can see that someone likes 150 better, because of its different sound signature. Anyway 160 is improvment over 150 by faaar. It reminds me AK SR15 but with better soundstage.

Yes. He’s like the only person I’ve ever heard who felt that way.

Amazon Music's software has a few issues with reporting the proper resolution. This seems to involve the particular device you are using for playback. Amazon's support blog has some answers involving the Fiio M11, etc. With the Fiio you have start the Music App and use a lower resolution ~44 khz song first and then it will properly play the higher resolution songs. With my office setup, I use an ipad as a usb transport, into a Regen, then to a Tanly Asynch USB interface and I2S cable to my Gustard A20H dac/amp. This setup shows the proper information for the source music, what I am playing it at and also the capability of my system at 24-bit/192khz. I have played a few 24/192 songs and it works just fine. So far I haven't found any songs that report a higher resolution.

I have been asking the same question. Can I effectively use the DX160 as a transport via USB? Another post here seemed to indicate that the DX220 had some issues with this.

The USB-C digital output is very important for me, so I would appreciate hearing about the problems that the DX220 has in this regard.

I've never gotten it to work with Mango, only with UAPP (even then, not entirely reliably).

The other problem is that if you have a newer MacBook that has only USB-C connections, I assume you will be unable to use the DX160 as a USB DAC since the DX220 isn't working with these newer MacBooks.

iBasso has not shown great interest in addressing either problem on the DX220, so I'm not holding out hope the DX160 is any better.

I have a nice custom USB cable with a micro at one end and A at the other. I use an adapter at both ends to USB C and it works great. I plug in the DX, go back to DAP mode and then back to DAC mode and it shows right up on my mid 2018 MacBook Pro. Sounds great, DX220 and the DX160.

+1 for creative problem solving. How much extra do I need to spend to make this work?

The adapters were something like 5 dollars each. So the huge sum of 10 or 12 dollars (bought on Amazon).

I have tried every combination other than mini-usb to usb-a with adapters on both ends. Seems kind of unacceptable IMHO. And this is a common issue for newer MacBook users with DX220.

So, I would love confirmation that it works with the stock cable and an adapter, or even just a USB-C to USB-C cable (ideal).
