What are differences of the 2020 edition besides the JDi display? I have ordered a unit in January and didn't receive it yet. The distributor is always delaying and it looks it will take another 2/3 weeks.

I'd cancel that order and demand the new 2020. I have a feeling a lot of our complaints have been fixed in the 2020 edition.

If you get your stuff after this period, I think it is going to be ver 2020.
Unless his proplem is the goods got stuck at custom/shipping

And I don't think other "issues" won't be solved. It would take or another antenna or a different radio on the board. Which is unlikely.

I tried three different types of antennas non increased wifi range.

We'll see once the new models get shipped. I suppose the new models no longer have the issues we have with our older version which is great for intereseted buyers

I don't believe that any changes were made with the new model, other than the screen, opamp, and version of trrs as stated by @Paul - iBasso

To our valued customers. We feel there is clarification needed for the change made to the DX160, which we are referring to as the 2020 version now. The only reason any change was made initially was because the screen we were using, the Sharp screen, is we can no longer obtain this screen. To replace this we have purchased the JDI screen. While the resolution is the same, the quality is slightly lower. This isn't noticeable until comparing side by side but it does not have quite the color impact. To compensate for this we then looked to see if there was any way we could improve the DX160. For this we ran many tests on components. We found one op amp that does improve the dynamics and this is buffer is what we have used. The change to The change to CTIA for monitors with an inline mic, is something we had been asked about many times and we decided to implement this at this time,

We have never and will never use customers as beta testers unless we make this known as we have done with a few past firmware beta versions. We value all of you and have always valued your opinion and desire for enjoyable sound and a meaningful musical experience.

If there are any owners of the DX160 2019 that wish to have their dap updated to the latest buffer we will offer this service for 32 USD. We are charging 10 USD for the buffers, free labor and 22 USD expedited shipping back to you. For Hong Kong, due to the close proximity, the cost is 10 USD for the buffers and 5 USD for the shipping.

The buffer upgrade can't be achieved through the distributor. If you want this update, you will need to send in your DX160 directly to us. We hope you can wait until you see the reviews of the new DX160, so you can make an informed decision on whether or not to have your DX160 buffer changed.

No other changes were made to the DX160 than what I have stated.

Depending on the sound improvements, I may have to pick one up. Love this DAP.

Could be a poor quality NIC, like my surface pro (has a terrible card in it).

I just sold wm1a. I owned a Fiio M11 before it. Now I decide between the dx160 and the LG V40.
What do you recommend? What matters most to me is the sound quality and power of the amplifier.

Well, the dx160 sounds very good and has lots of power. I don't own/tried the LG but if you want power IMO that's a no brainer. Get the dx160
