I also just ordered one :) I don't expect it to be in the same class as the DX200 but a bit less will also be ok. Sound quality on the DX200(amp5) is second to none, but battery life is xxxx and it takes forever to charge. The DX150 has a better battery life and fast charge, they will compliment each other very well.

I will probably end up selling my X7ii even though I really like this player, I don't need 3 players.

Do you think this is a better DAP option than the Hiby R6?
If so, why?
I need a full Android DAP and I´m between these two players.

wonder if using a different dac will offer a different sound signature than the dx200

Considering it has the same cpu as the DX200, I'd say the HiBy R6 will provide a smoother experience. I'm basing this from several headphonics reviews which basically say that the Hiby R6's performance is significantly smoother than the FiiO X5iii's performance, which is in turn snappier than the DX200.

In terms of sound, personally I don't think the DX150 will be able to compare with the R6 which has significantly better DACs but again, implementation is key here.
The DX150 may fare better than the Hiby R6 with low impedance iems though.

I think thats very likely. I have both the Cayin N5ii and N3 which have identical op amps but different DACs (ess9018k2m vs AK4490EQ) and they sound quite different.

Agree with you about UI, the R6 will definitely be faster and it's also smaller, easier to carry. I am not so sure about sound quality but of course nobody knows yet. Also remember the ability to change amp modules on the DX150, I will use the amp 5 module.

Is international shipping available? Nice to see companies releasing the daps straightaway instead of on kickstarter/indiegogo etc.

LOL wait until you guys hear this. No joke. I heard the HiBy R6 at the CanJam and of course the Cayin...the DX150 sounded fuller and more rich.

Got the R6 on order, god knows when it will turn up, hence the interest in other android daps that are available.

Honestly that's what I'd expect to hear. It's using AK4490EQ DACs which are known to sound smoother and with a neutral-warm tonality.

Assuming you are referring to the Cayin N5ii model in particular and the HiBy R6, those two are using Ess Sabre DACs which are known to be very detailed and revealing with a neutral-bright tonality.

Yes Ibasso ship worldwide. I paid 27 usd for express shipping, last time I ordered from Ibasso it literally took 2 working days to reach my doorstep in Europe. I can't wait 2-3 months.... :)

Well, that's good to know as I just placed my order. Ive been going back and forth as to whether I'd get the DX150 or the Astell&&Kern Ak70 mkii. i haven't bought a player since I got an iPod 5.5g eons ago. I'm actually excited to see how well this matches up to iBasso's IT01. I've got a little more than 100 hours on those iems and I really like how they've opened up.

Any idea how the DX150 will compare to the Pono Player SQ wise?

I’m biased against the Pono player. To me it sucked and was a waste of hard earned money.

Anyone else here have experience with the Pono?

I compared it to my old DX100 back when I had it and it wasn’t even close. My iPod sounded better.
