My personal favourite is 1.2.7. By far the most neutral.

1.3.7 is quite organic sounding, while 1.4.2 is far too coloured for me. YMMV.

Thanks!

I just found out the (FW download) links in the first post didn't work anymore. But I went to the iBasso site and was able to get 1.3.7 within some minutes, now I will get 1.2.7 as well...

Hopefully there were no (big) issues with these ''old'' FW versions...
Well, I guess I really should start reading all these posts over the next period

there is also a Russian FW based on 1.2.7 which has a really nice speedy interface, can recall the link but it should be on here somewhere.... DOC was the author.

Personally I preferred 1.2.7 firmware as the bass was much better (less boomy) and the sound generally was a better fit for my iems (k3003) but ymmv, give it a shot you can always revert back to 1.4.2

Yep, synergy is the key I guess

I love (and that word is almost an understatement) the sound with my AR6 on V1.4.2 right now!
But I'm almost sure that it will get too bassy with my Solars (once they have returned)

Btw (totally off topic), I saw under your signature that you sold your LCD2 for exactly the same reason as I did

Yeah - heavy and sweaty (I was living in Oz then) is what I remember of the LCD2's although the DX100/o2 amp/LCD 2 was amazing!!!

Hmm, so most of you clearly prefer 1.2.7 => interesting and I will definitely give it a try later on

Does DX100 have about the same quality in functionality (I mean not more bugs) under 1.2.7 as under 1.4.2?

Hello DX100 users

can someone help me out here , with these 4(+1) questions ?

1 - does it play gapless (16/44 FLAC files will be used) ?
2- can you search by folders ?
3 - is there a way to use balanced/TRRS cable termination ?
4 - can you use a 200gb sd card ?

and , how is the pairing/synergy with NT6 ?

i also have a DX80 - would the DX100 be an upgrade, sound-wise ? (the most important question, i guess)

thanx for any help , in advance

Yes

Yes

ONLY if u use an adapter since DX100 is single ended only with no balanced outs.
4 - can you use a 200gb sd card ?
Yes, format the card as FAT32

and , how is the pairing/synergy with NT6 ?
Tried once. The NT6 demo was in my ears for less than 30 seconds. Go figure.

Yes

thanx for any help , in advance

A few weeks ago I finally got around to installing the replacement battery that I purchased from Ibasso over a year ago. Procrastinated mainly out of fear of damaging the DX100. Turns out it was fairly easy to do. I wish I had done it sooner - I forgot how much I like the sound of this thing. Still one of the best sounding saps out there.

Download the excellent all connect on your smartphone and you can stream youtube content onto the DX100, with more and more hires available on you tube and with wifi more readily available and stronger,it works great, also Deezer works great with the DX100 and its on trial at the moment.
If you are patient with this dap it can still be the best!
