I have listened to some complex music (classical) on 24/96 and no problem. I am going to download some more 24/192 and see what happens but I want to choose carefully as I don't want to download stuff and play it only for testing. The 24/192 isn't cheap.

These are all correct. It sounds like a high end desktop setup. A lot of the SQ of my big home setup, in your pocket. It seems pretty neutral, and by neutral I mean like my home setup, which I consider to be a pretty faithful realistic reproduction of the sound. Like the O2 the DX100 doesn't have anything that pings my ears and sets off alarms saying that something isn't right.

I received my DX100 around noon and have been exploring it on and off since then. First of all, it is smaller than I had anticipated. It measures about a half inch longer and about 3/16" thicker than my iRiver H120. Actually is exactly the same size as my Thunderbolt cellphone with the high-cap battery.
Fit and finish are first-rate. I can put to rest the comments regarding any plastic, as it is all metal. IMO, it exudes a feeling of quality, as well it should.
As I own about 5 devices with the Android OS, I feel very much at home with the UI. Boot time it only about 15 sec, which is less than my phone. My first task was to log onto my wireless router and head to the Android marketplace (which the OFFICIAL marketplace) and download the Pandora app. Volume was very low until I discovered that when using something other than the music player, one needs to raise the media volume setting. (located in the global settings menu) Once done, Pandora played just fine.
I then loaded about 30gb of music via drag and drop. Took about an hour and fifteen minutes.
Once done, I spent some time exploring the default music player, which comes up as the homepage when the DX100 boots. Compared to the other Android players that I have used, the DX100 player is quite sophisticated, with many options and settings. The 8-band EQ should please even the most die-hard of EQ fans. There are also a number of preset EQ's which I haven't yet tried.
The music and SQ thereof, which is the reason for the existence of the DX100, is, IMO, outstanding. I have tried several of my IEM's and my Sony F1 and all sounded great. The player really has no sound of its own, it simply reproduces exactly what is on the recording, and adds no flavor of its own. Bass is deep and tight with no rolloff that I was able to detect and highs are clear and natural with no fatiguing brightness. SQ is what one expects from a device of this sophistication and price.
I was able to detect the slight click between selections that was previously reported as well as a bit louder click when shutting down. I have not yet heard any slowing down or other sonic artifacts due to processing, but I have not yet listened to any 192 files.
At this point, I can only say that iBasso has raised the bar for high-end portable audio to a new level, one that will be a challenge for any contenders to meet.

I thought that AIFF and WAV are very close formats. I wouldn't jump out of the boat just yet. If either jamato or scootermafia can try this: convert any of your flacs or wavs to aiff and try to import onto the DX100. I have a feeling it might work but only they can tell us for sure.

Ron, thanks so much for the quick reply. My brother is an system electrical engineer and he is helping me to find or make an external power supply. That is why I need the info.
Mischa, thanks for the link. I am no electrical engineer, I was talking to my brother who asks for those exact info. Apparently, your link show a 12v/5500mah output and the DX100 uses a 12v/2000mah battery. I was told by my brother if the power is too high, it may burn the battery down real fast if not damage the player. The best way is to copy the spec from Ibasso site and sent it to Bixnet.com and ask them if it will work. I did that with New Trent battery and they responded that their battery won't work with the Dx100.
