Does anyone use this setup with an ipod? I thought I saw this on the portable rig pic page. Would this be a good setup? I'm also looking at some of the DIY LOD's from the Head Fi members but the Head Direct ZY L7N looks like to be a great fit. Anyone know if they use quality wires and IC's?

I have a Zycable mini to min and it is really good. Flexible and does sounds ok. Don't really think you can hear the difference of cables on such a basic setup, but the craftsmanship and termination is solid.

I'm using an iPod Video 30GB, Rockbox firmware and mainly FLAC files, with the Boa connected using a 'wemakeamp' cheap Canare based LOD cable.

I'm REALLY impressed. The only portable amp I had before was the old Little Dot Micro and this blows it out of the water. I've added a little EQ (something I never do normally) because IMHO the line out of the iPod needs a little boost of the extreme low and high end.

Very happy though. Didn't think a rig so small could sound so good. I'm now 99% convinced that once I get back home I'll sell my fullsize CDP and remaining desktop amp and just keep this. It's just too convenient, and I'm sure I'm only missing out on miniscule details.

It's probably obvious from my sig but I'm using an HD600 with HD650 cable as headphones, but I've ordered a ZYcable Senn 'portable' cable for the HD600s from Head-Direct as well. Will save me having to use adaptor leads, and will hopefully be a little less cumbersome than my current cable.

I'm using an ipod classic in WAV + Ety 4P + IQUBE connected with the ULTIMATE LINK SILVER MASTER-i. An extremely flexible silver braided cable with Siltech solder. Since I'm a very rugged user.... having dropped my ipod 4 times & broke down an ALO cable, the UL silver master-i is definitely an extremely well-built cable. It opens up the soundstage and clears the bass defination. I had a chance to test all the range and it does not really need to take more than 2 minutes to buy the UL silver. Tried to experimenting with DIY cables like QED,Belden,Canare but it isn't as transparent and nuetral like the UL.

hi there, i love this LOD, its very reasonably priced and it is very short. In terms of sound quality, it sounds just fine, i don't think there is much difference between the different LODs, but i haven't tried any better ones. I definitely recommend the head-direct LOD
