Just received my X5L and first thing hitting me is that EQ are worse than on my iAudio5. Is this going to change, in better way, when upgraded with the latest firmware.

Cowon is really great in terms of firmware updates but lately they seem to focus on their newer line and not the X5, at least not as quickly as before (3-4 months per update now it's like 8 months). This is the case for my A2 as well.

Maybe Rockbox-ing it will help or messing around with the EQ and JetEffects could help.

This has been a frequent complaint of the X5. But after 2 and a bit years, it seems its finally r.i.p (can't be bothered digging up my old post). TBH about time, it was getting a little long in the tooth

Well, I am sorry for bringing that up again, just wasn't aware of the fact, o.k.
Don't understand why they are using different kind of EQ settings in their products, don't make any sense to me.
