Shure olives?

Oh, yes, I did try a Shure Olive pack. Forgot about those. Even those were a tad hot for me.

For the sound your looking for something like the SM3 or SE535 would be a good choice along with the W4, they all have a warmer non sibilant sound.  The K3003 and FI-BA-SS are quite bright but if you have the money to spend on the 334's I'd say go for it because they are also on the warmer side from what I've read and if I had the money thoughs would be my choice.  I still think the IEM's in the $400 range would be more than good enough and you'd save about a grand.

I am afraid of the brightness! hmmm...

I agree with that.
I also tried the K3003 and the FI-BA-SS but in my opinion the TG334 are with no doubt the better IEM's. Maybe the only universal which compete easily the best CIEM on the market.

So much love for the 334. I think they are at the top of my list. Just seeing how the ASG-2 rolls out - lots of love there too. I'd love to get my ears on both of them for a comparison.

With all the reported detail and transparency of the 334, is it still musical and engaging? I have heard it compared to a SR-009, which some believe lacks a bit of "euphony."

To my ears, as they are mid centric and warm sounding IEM, I believe we can say they are quiet musical.
I've never had the chance to hear a SR009, but I own a Beyer T1 since a long time and I feel the TG334, in a good system (they are very source dependent in my experience), are slightly more transparent and had more details retrieval than my T1.

For what its worth this thread actually reviews most of your prime suspects...

Don't forget that Sennheiser has also just launched its IE800 flagship.

The TG334 and Tralucent 1plus2 seem to be the best universals on planet Earth. Definitely give the 1plus2 a try, Gavin of Tralucent Audio claims it is better than the 334, which is already on par with some mid-tier customs.

If you want a dynamic driver, the EX1000 from Sony or IE80 from Sennheiser will satisfy.

However, over here on Mars, we cookie-eating martian Robots feels sound :)

Thanks Giles, I love that thread. Can't wait for the Aurisonics addition.

Seems like the TG334 is the top contender for now. But I have an unusual suspect in the mix. Final Audio Design is not so much accessible, but seems to be a lot of fun. I may snag one of those until the reviews on the new Aurisonics roll out in comparison to the TG334.

Remember to add 1plus2 into the comparison, they updated it!

I'm sure the 334 is a great IEM but I'm fine with my SM3 V2 that's about a $1000 cheaper and even though the 334 might sound quite a bit better its not worth an extra $1000 imo.  Say someone like Joker gives them a 9.8 and he gave the SM3 a 9.4 and you mean to tell me its worth a grand more, diminishing returns or not that's a lot of money for a quad driver UIEM.  For the ones that have $1300 to spend good on ya but I'll stick to my more reasonably price $350 IEM.  Never thought I'd say a $350 IEM was a reasonable price but compared to the 334 and K3003 it is.

What, is the 334 really that good? You guys better be kidding, or I might make a financially stupid move and get it.

Yes, togo334 is really that good
Very very sensitive
In a very good source, it sing really GOOD
Hahahaha

I always just use ipad3 direct togo334 and its good enough
:)

Akg k3003 is very good also, but i prefer 334 than k3003
K3003 is a semi open iem, it doesnt block all outside sounds

check out the upcoming heir audio 90 or 350

Thus far on the Heir Audio roster:

     3.Ai
     4.Ai
     Tzar 90
     Tzar 350

The best in the line up would really be determined by what you like acoustically, and how the IEMs are designed to perform
