Just got them new hours ago and out of the box with Pa2V2 amp and creative zen xtra they sound amazing.way better than my hd555 that i sold off.problem is they are tight around the pads and i cant find the best position for them on the head.the hd555 had bigger cups but also were tight.i book stetched them for days to loosen them up.should i book stretch the dt990 also or just let them loosen up naturally?I also feel some of my ear touch the driver cover but its pretty soft.Grateful for any help here. thanks matt

Great to hear that you like them.

Honestly, I think their grip is tighter than even Sennheiser and I don't know any better way to wear those other than the conventional way.

My ears don't touch the driver and I don't think my DT990 loosen up after extended use. Probably doing book stretch is better. The headband is made of thick metal and probably needs an extreme stretching to loosen the grip.

I had the same impression out of the box.
But you can try to press pads to make them softer.
If you want to try and stretch the headband, good luck.
It is thick but also very elastic too !

Use it, press some pads sometimes, stretch the band and it will be easier to wear.
