For the past month ive been using my shuffle and as of this week a nano with a pair of Senn PMX60's at work and I've been pretty satisfied with the how well the combo sounds. I've found that, later in my shift when i get really drowsy(graves suck) I've had to crank up the volume quite a bit which i'm assuming gets pretty annoying for my co-workers. So last week i bought a pair of Ultrasone HFI650's which sounds fantastic even unamped and has solved the leakage problem but after an 8hour shift my ears are extremely fatigued(mostly the outside). This morning+afternoon I've been looking for another alternative and I think the er-6 is my best option, they seem to have the best isolation, comfort and lower end in their price range. Before I order them I was hoping to hear some of your thoughts and opinions.

ps. I mostly listen to trance, house, classical and classic rock(queen, pink floyd, def leopard)

regards,

mik

the er6 is almost as bright as the pmx60. You'd be getting similar sound signature but alot more detail on the er6

especially instrument seperation. the pmx60 doesn't do well in mids.

You might want to look into the ER-6i, they are a better match for the iPod than the ER-6. ...and Amazon's got them for $85!

the ER-6i has a lower impedance and is more efficient than the ER-6. That's why they recommend and amp for the ER-6. The ER-6i is also more sonically matched to the iPod. I got the ER-6i last week and I'm totally amazed by them. I've got another post here with my mini review.
