Well it is almost that time of the year again, Christmas season. Today my wife broached the subject of Christmas tree placement. My first responses were greeted with a few non Christmas like expletives. I suggested skipping it this year and then I suggested upstairs in my sons room as he is away at law school. She has her heart set on placing it in the same room as my speaker setup which is our living room. We are already at odds about furniture and bookcase placement and this just adds one more thing to the mix albeit temporary. I am thinking I may just give in and revert to 100% headphone listening for a while.

Maybe this is the best bet, just give in then ask for a record cleaning machine in a week or two. Think more long term.

I hope everyone here at Head-Fi has a great Thanksgiving and a great holiday season.

You and me both John. My wife is dead set on us getting an "entertainment center" for my two channel rig and my home theatre set up. While I have no problem with the HT, there is no way is my stereo components are going into anything enclosed.

I like the way you are thinking regarding short term vs. long term. A record vacuum is a must. Compromising your speaker set-up for a few weeks is a very small price to pay. Quote:

You too.

If it's only for a month or two, I'm agreed w/ letting her have this battle.

Mine wants this as well and so far the Atmaspheres have saved me. They just don't fit any of the units she likes. I am digging in a bit on this one as well.

Just the minor bumps that keep it interesting.

John, the answer is simple, convert. Menorahs take up very little room. If you use real candles as opposed to electric, you don't even lose an outlet on your power conditioner.

John, I'm sorry to say that when it comes to holidays and interior decorating stuff, you're always going to lose. I'm not saying it's a bad thing. Trust me, if you win, you'll hear about it for the next 10 or 15 years. Most women don't remember why they felt bad about something, they just remember that they felt bad, and in this case, you caused it. Let her win.

PS. I know this may come off as a sexist point of view, so if any women want to dispute this, just take it from me right from the start that... "you're right, I'm wrong, I apologize, no...you don't look fat in that dress, ...I'll be in the garage if you need anything."
