Today I went to my lawyers for the mandatory mediation that Georgia requires before a divorce. Thanks to all of your prayers, things ended up well and we actually reached a settlement. We were able to work out a custody settlement for the kids, house, and everything.

My daughter will live with her mother like she wanted and my son will live with me in the house (which he wanted). We've reached a fair settlement on division of property, debts, and last year IRS refund.

I feel a lot better now knowing that things will work out and we didn't have to go through a knock-down drag-out in court.

Glad it all worked out for you, I know its not good when things go as far as courts and divorces but at least you all agreed amicably.

My brother in law and his wife won't agree on anything, it's in court every other week and is a nightmare for their kids, at least you have agreed in an adult manner.

I'm glad it went well for you. A good friend went through a similar divorce a few years back and while it wasn't easy, he's moved on and is doing great now. I hope the same happens for you.

I'm sorry to see your kids split up, though; but it sounds like that's the way they want it. I hope it works that each relationship with each parent becomes more special due to this.

Good for you guys, it's very easy for these situations to escalate

I had two friends whose parents were going through divorces at the same time. One divorce got ugly, the other ended much like yours. Needless to say the divorce was much harder on the friend whose parents had an ugly divorce.
