so the other day, I wander into this record store in evanston, il, not expecting much, when I look at some of their stuff, and right there is a copy of the beach boy's smile! there was a ton of rare and bootlegged stuff there, and unfortunately also at outrageous prices. I saw a dylan bootlet, a tree with roots, going for $150! luckily, I had also d/l'ed it off of sharingthegroove.org a few months ago
anyways, I saw this interesting beatle collection. The cds themselves cost 30 bucks, and since I already had the original 1988 capitol cd release, they were out of my league. What was interesting was that the cds themselves claimed to be from the beatles master tapes, and they contained both stereo and mono versions of the albums. Their covers didn't fill up completely with the original album covers, a smaller photo of them was put on the front of the cds... does anyone know what I'm talking about?
