...and my ass hurts!

Seriously, all 184lbs. of me accidently sat on the earcups (more on the left earcup than right)...and nothing, no cracks or the feeling of the cups pressing inward. Thank you beyerdynamic for making cans that can handle a fat person sitting on them. Lucky me i wasn't using my senny's

LOL

I've given my DT770's some rough handling when I had to; i.e., taking them to school in a backpack. . . what roughness

They're built very well, however. If not for the fact that both headphones I own are closed, I would say I had the best of both worlds - the DT250-80 with its detailed midrange and the DT770-250 with full bass and treble response.

Gotta rent some more DVDs!

Were the cans on a sofa, a chair, or... a table?

In that case, your Beyer acts as a transfer medium of your weight (you leather chair absorb most of your weight). So....you are still lucky.

It is the fist DSP MD by Sharp, Sharp MD-SS323. This is my favorite MD player around. It has a slot in mechanism, 13 preset EQ, surround mode, 2 user defines mode, and backlit LCD on the player. Lovely, it's Sony D-555 of MD player.

The only logical explanation for sitting on your DT770 and there being no damage to the headphone is that there must have been complete insertion. Hopefully someone can give you advice about getting the oder out but indeed you should celebrate that the DT770's hardshell casings are not porous.
