ok heres my story, Ive been using Shure e2c for almost 2 years and the cable split open recently and shorty after the connection at the plug started shorting out and i kept loosing sound in the right headphone .... So this christmas i used a couple bestbuy cards and upgraded to the SE210 which btw i'm a Huge fan of the black olive foam they have perfect isolation in the extremely loud factory i work in with mandatory ear protection

BUT the music i listen to is mainly Dubstep a genre centered on constant basslines which the Shure e2c and se210 just cant keep up with at all the entire frequency response above 120 seems absolutely perfect for my listening environment but lower than 120 just seems completely void

I just bought some CX500's and recieved them yesterday Thats more like the bass i'm looking for but the bass in these phones dont really sound like a Speaker making bass to my ears .. sounds more like a plunger on my ear acting as a speaker and on the whole these sounded really hollow in the midrange. After 5 hours i had to take them out, i just cant stand rubber/silicon sleves there awful for long term use, so back to the SE210's for now. i gave the senn's to my wife since she listens to music at the gym and doesnt care about long term comfort

theres nowhere in my area i can test iem's let alone the broad range of them that exists

so i started reading more today and i'm thinking more along the lines of a UM2 but id like to know what other ppl have tried for the more electronic genres of music that focus on bass IE drum and bass, Dubstep, Progressive, PsyTrance etc which is what i listen to at work 90% of the time

any suggestions on something that sounds like an se210 but with alot more bass

Prefer something i can use shures black olive foams on.

Btw i use DT770pro80's at home if that helps your judgement

u might be able to get them for under that (assuming you talking about us$ since you dont actually say what currency or what country you are in)

there is the se420, the UM2 would also prob be quite suitable for you. also there is the atrio's if you like a lot of bass, they would sound more like the cx500 you had but not as flabby

Since you want decent bass, the Denon AH-C551K and Sony MDR-EX90LP are good choices if you are on a budget. If you can afford it, the Futuresonics Atrio M5 is also an excellent choice.

I'll throw in the Monster Turbines into the discussion. Amazing bass (to me more impactful than the 530 and Triple.fi), but no loss in the midrange or treble (similar to Shures and Etymotics). Pretty surprising, but in a good way. Or maybe the PFEs, but I don't have personal experience with them.

Good reviews for both, and around $150 for either one.

Turbines are a good choice, but neither the Turbines or the Denons will work with Shure olives. If you are married to those foamies, then the PFEs are a better choice in this price range. However, you may not even need foamies with the Denons or the Monsters. I typically favor foamies myself, for example, but the small Turbine silicone tips work perfectly for me, good seal, and these phones really deliver nice sound across the spectrum. Plus, they are tough, all metal, so no worry about cracking if stepped on. And don't need to be over the ear either.

ya i'm kind of obsessed with the black olive foams and would prefer to be able to use them on the next set which i think work on both um2 and m5... i'm kind of leaning towards the m5 just because of price .. but there so hideous looking lol. And i'm kind of afraid to buy another set thats driver based like the senn's just because of how awful the senns sounded lol but i know not all things are created equal

the monster turbines look really new to the market but have gotten decent reviews .. ive always been a person that trusts in a company thats been around a while and dont go after gimmicky products

the se530's are only 277 atm on amazon thats cheaper than the um2's and i know i like shures mids/highs so i might just grab some 530's for work but i'm afraid the Even higher 32 ohms will reduce the volume even more .. but the sensitivity is 119 compared the the 114 on the se210's so i'm hopeing the differences would cancel each other out and sound about the same in volume except with alot more low end support cause of the extra drivers
