I have a 100-200$ budget , I'd like to know what to buy as a main home-rig cd-player .
I'm not much interested in other capabilities .

thanks for suggestions .

Get a NAD 521i theyre going for $199 new and demo. 5 stars in all the british mags and great quality. No HDCD but its still supposed to sound great. Check Audiogon.

I am in the same predicament. Does anyone have an opinion on the Cambridge D500SE? They are available used in the $200 to $250 range. Not my intent to hijack the thread, it seemed that it might be helpful. Thanks.

There's a great example of why the NE5532 op-amp doesn't have to be bad sounding.

I like the 5534's in my superdac very much, as of yet I haven't found anything at acceptable cost that can replace this excellent box, this includes the analog RME output.

There is some mentioning of the superdac in the article btw, nice.

which to choose ?

the priceless toshiba (50$) or the Very good reviewed nad ( 300$ )...?
any comparison between the two ?

What would i get more from them in comparison to my current pioneer pd-s504 cd player ?
