Hey guys, I'm going to buy a Lyr to combo with a Bifrost and HE-500 cans.

-Should I go with JJ or GE stock tubes?

-Do I need to order with 115 or 230v?

Thanks.

Nice choice!

I recommend the GE tubes to start with.  IMO, they sound smoother than the JJ's.

If you are in the US, get the 115V version. 230v is for Europe and other countries other than USA.

Enjoy!

Thanks! If I decide to upgrade from the stock tubes, what is an ideal pairing for this combo?

That's a hard question to answer...too many variables depending upon the rest of your chain.

Most everyone seems to like the late '60's Amperex Orange Globe 6DJ8/ECC88's though.

Also, check out the Lyr tube rolling thread here on Head-Fi.
