So, this entire year has been filled with me making purchases to really make a genuine PC setup, one that's good for gaming and general usage with a powerful PC and good peripherals backing it all up, but now I want my audio experience to be equally as good as well, both for gaming and music. Now I've never really owned nor honestly listened to a good set of headphones, I basically have zero perspective on it and have lived with a pair of Marshall Majors and Urban Ears for a fair amount of time. Yeah, as far as I've heard these aren't exactly very solid headphones and I do want to see if I can step up the game at all. Like I said, I both game and listen to lots and lots of music so I guess I want a solid balance of both there. What kind of music is, well, it's varied like all hell. I listen to just about everything, from like Arcade Fire to the most bass heavy hip hop available and I can't say I prefer any one genre at all. I am still though a bit of a bass whore and I do by all means love a clear vibrant and loud bass, but I still do want crisp clear and well balanced highs and mids etc. (yeah, I'm demanding perfection, I know), also, I always max out all my devices and listen to my music and games at extremely loud volumes though recently I have started to put volume down slightly since I feel that my current headphones just kinda bleed into my ears in a irritating way when too loud. But the problem with me demanding perfection here is that I'm on a budget, a pretty tight budget that doesn't get much better with the fact that I live in Sweden where costs aren't exactly low, nor does shipping help at all in this case. But nonetheless, I've made a small amount of research into just what I should buy and I've stumbled upon two Massdrop deals that seem pretty fair for the money it's demanding. The HiFiMan HE-350s and the AKG K553 Pro. They both seem to give me this sort of best of both worlds thing that I'm asking for. The 350s having incredible sound stage and crystal clear quality on the highs and mids, though the low and bass is a bit forgotten though can be adjusted and backed up with a mod and EQ modification to give me that all around beautiful balance I'm longing for. Whilst the K553 Pro are rather similar, though more bass heavy, and despite being closed back they still give a fairly big and wide sound stage despite of the fact (though the price tag is a bit higher, $30 specifically or about 300kr). But I've heard comfort is a questionable thing with the 350s (though my head isn't all that big I believe so it might not be too much of a problem) plus some reviews are extremely negative towards the 350s and say that it's inconsistent in it's quality whilst some are extremely positive and state that it's incredible value. So, at this point, I'm at a little bit of a loss and don't exactly know where to go next. Should I just ditch these two offers and search for something different? Or should I go with one or the other and why is that? I don't have an amp and don't think I can afford one (hence the budget, after all) but does that even matter with these two pairs? Remember, I am a complete beginner here and am not too aware of all the terms of technicalities of everything. Any and all help is extremely appreciated, thank you!

Sennheiser hd598

Hello! I really do appreciate your suggestion, though I must note that they are double the price of both the 350s and 553s here in Sweden, making it out of my budget. Despite of that I am interested in what the hd598s are better at compared to these two headphones, and if they really are double the quality as the price would suggest here in Sweden? And what are they better at specifically?

They are more natural than those 2 models and have much larger soundstage important for gaming, i suggest you to look into second hand market, here in Norway we have Finn.no i am sure that you have somthing similar in Sweden.

Well I've been unable to find them anywhere among the second hand but I was looking into other options and found that the SHP9500 and X2 are a pair of headphones that are fantastic for the price, how would those compare to the 598s and these other two options I've been looking into?
