so i lost my ipod earbuds. left them in some hotel while travelling for winter break, but whatever, the drivers were messed up anyway.

anyhow, i'm looking for a solid replacement. i'm thinking any price up to like $50, since i don't need anything high-end, just something that, well, sounds good, while i walk around and stuff. a little isolation couldn't hurt. but then again, neither could white earbuds, so i can match my ipod (yes, i'm vain like that).

i don't expect audiophile-grade music on the go, i've got that going on at my desk anyhow. there's a time and place for everything.

any quick suggestions? just throw some out so i can start looking at different products and compare prices and stuff. thanks a lot!

That has to be the easiest anwser yet, it's the ones I have in my ears right now (Yes, at home, so?)

The Sony MDR-EX71 White version Canalphones sound perfect for you -Isolation, whiteness, price range, and they aren;t audiophile sound.

Sennheiser MX500's - get 'em & you're done. Seriously.

i second the mx500. good ole' performance, can be brought around 10 bucks. they're not white, so you're less likely to get jumped for you iPod

but if you must get white earbuds, you could always paint them white or something....

i had a feeling i would end up looking at the EX71's! i'm 90% gonna get those. i heard them once, they're solid sounding. just wondering if there's anything out there worth considering

given that, the ATH-CM3's on audiocubes look so sexy...

I have those white EX71SL's. Right now, they sound harsh/screetchy and a bit bloated. And I put in quite a few hours on those buds.

By the way, the EX71SL's are officially available in the US both in black and in white. Availability at Best Buy superstores is spotty (their Web site still doesn't list the EX71SL's), but I know that my local one (in Melrose Park, IL) carries the EX71SL's in white. Circuit City IIRC carries the EX71SL's only in black.
