I may have a trade for Edition 9... what's the general scoop on these?

As the post says, I have a potential trade for the Edition 9. I've heard some good stuff from one guy who swears by them (not the guy who wants to trade them, duh

), but it seems like there aren't many reviews around.

What's the general consensus on these things?

i say go for it.

they are supposed to be great but are very polarizing. people who like them say they are possibly the best dynamic headphone out there (with the exception of the almighty R10). but even those who don't love them still find them very competent. a general criticism against them is that they are supposed to be bass heavy to the detriment of the other sonic frequencies. there are many posts about them. you should give those a read.

I've got to hear a pair of these for this exact reason. Unfortunately i'll be damned if I can find a pair to try before buying...
