I just reripped most of my CDs with EAC because they needed tagged anyway.

My music sounds so much better now. Heck I wish it was common knowledge that the sound deteriorates on the hard drive with time, that way I could do this every couple months and I would always be happy.

Good deal! Be happy!!

Just tell yourself that everytime your computer does a disc clean-up or a defrag, that some data may be corrupted!

It might not be a placebo at all. I don't really know how it works but if it's a modern disc then it might be due to the dynamic compression thing they do nowdays.

I'v got a CD Matafix- Signs Of a Strugle. I don't know if they intended the recording to sound like that but it sounds crap. to my amusment, it sounds better when riped.

Amen to that. But seriously, it could have been the break you took while re-ripping. Everytime I come back to music after a break everything sounds better...."and, and food tastes better! Man are you digging this air? This air rules..."
