I joined after having already bought HD580s. Was recommended a Gilmore Lite SS amp here. Bought it found it made no difference at all in sound, sold it and thought this community was a bunch of retards. Decided to come back in 2008 and give a tube amp a try and that was the ticket. Been active ever since including going to my first meets which I never did when I initially joined.

So my 'rig' during those 5 years was simply HD580s plugged into whatever I was listening to, be it computer sound card (mostly) or portable player, etc.

Max, I checked the "treads started by maxvla" or w/e in your user info thingy and saw that indeed there was a gap from '05 to '08, but not a full 5yr gap. So I guess your tied ATM but with bonus points for it being head-fi.

Hey besides 1 random thread.. one of those posts in 2004 was me selling my amp like I mentioned above.. otherwise it's pretty clear from 2003 to 2008!
