HI: I have the sony 610. what would be a much better minidisc than it? Is there a player only with a window that would be better. I don't need to record because I have 2 minidisc decks.

sony 610 = sony mz-n510 + radio remote

sony mz-n510 is the bugget model, which is made out of plastic and has the least functions... maybe you would try some higher line of sonys? 7xx, 9xx, or n1/n10

most of all sharp are all good too, i dont think sharp made much of low-end models

you could get a sharp md-ds8, a play-only unit, but it has a digital amp, and is supposed to sound very nice.

i dont know myslef though, i haven't heard it

I personally don't know of any MDs that have windows in so that you can see the MD in action??

...Certainly none of the current Sony models...

Duncan,

I think he means an LCD screen. I haven't seen any MD players that had one, certainly not anything recent. If you decide to get an MDP, you'll really have to use your remote. A deck/MDP is a great combo if you never bother with field recording.

HI: Duncan, LOL I am sorry fore saying a window. I meant a lcd screen so I can see the track being played and don't have to use a remote.
