I am suffering with some insane strain of influenza and my headphones sound like crap. It's been 4 days now with no signs of letting up. The left ear is more sensitive than the right so everything sounds louder on the left. I think i'm about to go crazy with this deprivation. I need sympathy and stories of similar experiences...

Dokebi,

I'm exactly the same at the moment...

It started off with a flight at the end of last month, when my right ear screwed up... I thought I had that sorted... but then I came down with a flu / chesty thing... and my ear went again...

Its still not better now, feeling congested... as if there is cotton wool in there... I even went to the doctors to see if there was a wax build-up, but... there wasn't...

Ho-Hum... soon be Xmas, might see if I can order a replacement ear from Amazon or something

duncan, you might not be too far off on that replacement ear thing, I mean the way technology is progressing these days we might not be that far from that, you could just clone yourself and use the parts on an as needed basis!

I was wondering who it was that was spreading the sickness around here!! Smees the wife, mother-in-law, and I are all sick right now with a cold/flu. Man, it does suck as I hate the runny nose/congestion thing!!!

I do hope you get better dokebi!!!!

Just a suggestion... Keep the Q-Tips out of your ears. You risk irritating the eardrum or worse and it is very easy to damage the tiny hairs deep in your ear.that are essential for good hearing. Buy an ear syringe and use commercial ear cleaning drops.

Drink plenty of water and juice to stay well hydrated.

Hope you feel better soon.

last year was the first year that I haven't gotten the flu. I'm hoping that i don't get it this year.

whenever im sick, i dont even TOUCH music.
why? cause ill relate that music to being sick and itll make me nausous whenever i hear it (trust me, some genre's actually make me sick cause i listened to em when sick, tho its mainly early 90's dance music, so i guess its for the better

Everything seem kinda dull when I'm sick, so if I do listen to music then, it's usually random stuff on the computer. No point in using my main rig when I won't be able to enjoy it.

Thanks Wal, I think I'll go chug some more Gatorade and keep the fluids coming in. Cause the nose sure ain't letting up on it's end of the bargain!!!

I usually sleep about 6-8 hours, but it can come at different times of the day or night depending on my mental activity. If I'm working on something really challenging or mentally taxing I can't sleep. Normal days I can!!
