I have my hands ON the Sony X1000 Walkman - Impressions / Discussions

I'm wondering if some sort of consensus has emerged during these 177pages concerning the best way to play movies on the X ?

- What format is recommended? (3gp, wmv, mp4...)
- What converter is recommended? (avi to...)
- What resolution is recommended?

Thanks for your lights!

I tried with my HD600. It sounds decent but a little anemic. The HD600/HD650 is not easy headphone to drive and does much better with an amp.

Hey US folks. You can get the 32gb X1061 right now at Sony's store for $269.99. I think they screwed up the pricing for Cyber Monday and put the 16gb on the 32gb and vice versa. It shows as $299.99, but gives you another $30 off during checkout:

They discounted higher price item once a while. I don't know the logic behind it.

It's still screwed up, for anyone who wants the 32GB X for $269. However, with tax and shipping, the price is actually $291 (Sony charges tax, at least here in PA), it's still a very good price. I wonder how long they will have it messed up. If it were an S-series with the Digital Amp, i would buy it. But even at $291, I still prefer the S9 (which was $250).

Anyway, a very good find for U.S. buyers who want the X-1061 for the best possible price. No doubt they will somehow discover their mistake. Anyone want the 16GB X for $399 (that's the price they have it listed at, so I don't think this is by design), minus a 10 percent discount? I think they made a mistake, mainly because they "raised" the 1051 to $399.

Update: I bought the 32GB model (again), but this time for $45 less. Now I have the S9 and X to play around with, but I may end up keeping both this time.

Sony Walkman X Series 16GB $199.99 + FS (newegg) - SlickDeals.net Forums

Seeing as Sonystyle has the 32GB @ $299, hopefully this will be the 16GB will drop down soon. IMO $300 for a 16GB is just pushin it.

DSEE is a big no-no, no way, dont even mention it here. Just dont use it, OK ? The flame wars really arent worth it.

I've turned *all* the EQ etc off on mine since I bought the T3, and its liquid gold. Pure molten musical magic.
