I received the demo Rega Planet 2000 that I bought from Audiogon today and it is a fantastic unit. This is my first dedicated CD player, and I'd say it's more than a solid start.

I honestly believe that if we all had very high quality cd players (of course I'm talking about players that are actually constructed in that manner), most people would be source first. Good luck with your new player.

Congrats on your purchase. I heard a hifi CD player for the first time back in 2001 and I was definetly impressed. Prior to that I was wondering "why are these guys spending so much on a CD player, they all do the same thing right??"

I hope to hear a Planet someday.
