so anyway, my sister's roommate came over today to visit while she was in the area. we were talking, and the topic of stereos came up. she said she wanted a shower cd player. so i went and got the sharper image catalog which came in the mail yesterday and showed her their waterproof cd thing (i know, it probably sucks, but i sure don't know of a quality waterproof boombox).
then, she said "oh, i was at the sharper image store the other day!! i want to get a pair of those bose headphones they have!"
i said, "well, uh, you know that there are much better values besides bose...." ( was trying to be polite)
she was kinda skeptical of what i said, so i went and grabbed my SR60's and ipod; hooked em up and played jeff buckley. she was blown away. she asked how much they cost, and i told her half of what the triports did. she was even more impressed!
so then, to make things even better, i got my KSC35's and played some more stuff for her. she couldn't believe it when i told her they cost only $30. it's rare to have someone realize that $30 for these cans is an absolute steal; most as we know say that thirty bucks is way too much for ANY headphones.
so needless to say, she's getting a pair of KSC35's... she asked me to write down the model number and website and everything. she couldn't really tell the difference between them and the SR60's, and i gotta say even i can't sometimes; the SR60's do have more controlled bass and a bigger soundstage, but it's subtle to my ears. she also might be getting a pair of PX200's or PXC250's for when she needs isolation
but just to solidify the standing of bose, i came here to head-fi and opened up a few threads about the bose cans and let her read em. she was shocked. hehehehehe. thanks head-fi!
