here i am, innocently ripping my "ghost in the machine" cd on my old sony cd rw drive. suddenly, i hear "THWAAACK!" coming from my computer.

What?!

it sounded like a hammer coming down on a cd. it was LOUD.

the cd drawer pops on, and what do i see?
a shard of my police cd sitting in the corner of the tray.

man, i really need to upgrade sooner.

Uhm, that problem usually is more related to the quality of the disc than the age of the drive...

Actually, my old PC is sitting in the trunk of my car to take to the office for recycling. It has a DVD ROM drive in it and if you want it, it's yours.

I'm joining you in Team Ety

shortly. I traded my HD600 for ER4P with the P->S cable. Hopefully I'll have them in a week.
