I got Yamaha YH-1 Orthos. How to damp?

I am looking for a tutorial or some resource on how to modify the YH-1 for better damping and improved frequency response. I've had these phones for a while, but never gave them much attention. I am now really getting into enjoying music on the headphones and would like to give these a try. They sound pretty good as is, unmodified (except for a 1/8" plug I put on them), but could definitely use improvement on the high and low ends. Mid-range is gorgeous on these. Any help with how to dampen these or otherwise improve the sound will be greatly appreciated.
