I just got my first job! I'm working in the IT department of my former school as a network tech. I get a starting wage of £14,000 a year and all the holidays associated with it.

I hate to see congratulations for employment. I understand you need money to live but focus on the "living". I can't wait to congratulate you on a personal achievement or experience that is not employment related. Glad you have a job...hope you have a life.

Congrats on what sounds like a job that gets you up in the morning and provides that balance between earning and spending.

This is all good and well until you realize that you can't support your current lifestyle.

So, I congratulate the OP on finding something that will sustain his (soon-to-be?) headphone addiction.

Congratulations, besides spending a lot of money on toys remember to set aside as much as you can (15% or so) for retirement. Yes it may seem like 40 years is a long time but it will arrive quite fast. Good luck.
