i got Arcade Fire's Funeral on vinyl today and...

...it reminded me of why i have a turntable. this album is simply immaculate.

it also reminded me how poor my digital setup sounds >.<

Is the vinyl cut from a different master than the CD? I wouldn't have thought so.

I dont think so but a lot of people like the vinyl much better then the cd, maybe it was remastered?

i'm not sure, but my digital setup has a very poor DAC, so that accounts for most of it. either way, the album is incredible as far as i'm concerned.

i think the percussion is wayy too pronounced in funeral
same problem as my "give up" vinyl

i honestly don't understand why this band is so praised. i admit, their live show looks kinda fun, but the music is nothing special (to me anyway). i don't know...i think it's just cause the singer sounds like the guy from the counting crows.

i bought the limited edition cd version of this, for my brother's birthday. i like the package it comes in. also, the little flip books are neat.

The vocals are not the strong suit of Arcade Fire... IMHO They excel in their arrangements and layering of sounds and instruments, as well as their lyrics.

Too bad this album is so terrible...
