Hi!
I wanted to simulate ER4XR by my ER4P. I use HR Player made by Onkyo on iPhone 7 and copied the frequency pattern of ER4XR, in which the response gradually increases starting from about 800Hz to the lower end, on the equalizer of the HP Player as a custom pattern. The result was not at all what I expected. What I found is that the impact of on / off of the equalizer is much larger than the slight modification of the frequency curve.
EQ
ff > clear and crispy original sounds of ER4P
EQ
n with a flat line with no frequency change > obvious less resolution and not at all my taste
EQ
n with a simulated line > obvious less resolution similar to above and a hint of bass boost
ER4P is so sensitive to detect bad effects of an EQ circuit. So, I failed to simulate the ER4XR. However, it will arrive in a few days to me. Then I will compare them.
Thank you for reading!
