Now when I first dropped the 100 dollars on the SE110, my first impressions were severely disappointed. When my JBL Ref220's crapped out I went out and bought the best thing I could buy and I remeber when I was a kid hearing about the E2C's and wishing I could have them. So I bought the SE110s for the brand name, instead of sound.

This later on hurt, when I plugged it in to my Zune and they sounded AWFUL. I got very frustrated when I dropped 100 dollars on what seemed to be tin cans. So I ran to my computer and plugged them into my creative sound card and BOOM.. The bass was there, clear vocals EVERYTHING.

When I finally got my Creative Zen, things started to get better. Clear bass and sufficient bass, clear everything. Once the Fiio came around, it was perfect. I have the sound qualtity of the Shure SE310's for 150 less! (My dad owns the SE310 btw) My dad was blown away that I had almost the same sounding headphone.

I came to the conclusion that the SE110 just needs ALOT to drive them, and with an Ipod or Zune, it wont sound too good. I dont know what it is, but you need alot of power, I want to try them with a better amp too. Im not going to bother though as in a few months I will be getting the US Triple.fi 10's...

What do you head-fi'ers think?

Well, Im extremely glad you are happy with your SE110s, a friend of mine has them and he is very satisfied with them. Believe me when I say that you will be very very pleased with the triple .fi`s.
One thing that puzzles me is how you say that using a FiiO makes the SE110s come alive, and they need a lot to drive them when they are such a low impedence earphone.

One man's honey is another man's poison. The important bit is you find the sound you like

i tried se110 with boa, but still i prefer ex-85 sound sig which cost half and doesnt even need an amp to shine... 110's highs are too much for me, its more like e2c with added bass...

ClieOS
i couldnt say better than that

Yeah I am aware that its resistance is quite low (27 ohms), but the more power I pump into these things, the better they sound... So I honestly don't know. Except that I like them. I am quite excited to get the triple.fi's though.. I took me a while to pick the right IEM from the top 3 and from the sound signatures discribed.. The Triple.fi sounds perfect for me.
