ESW9 cost 22,906 yen in Amazon japan which is $228. Why such as huge difference in price? Here it is $310? Will the price ever drop to the same level as that of Amazon japan? I would love to purchase this headphone, but now that I know it cost $228 in Japan I don't feel so good ordering it.

How about shipping and import duty costs to US or rest of the world. I do not think that USD 82 are that much of difference, however...

How long does it typically take for the company to release its headphones outside Jp?

Don't forget, if you get it Fedex you do pay the duty which was not cheap as i recall, otherwise that 310. does not include duty-slow way on the audio cubes site. I think it was an extra $28. or so in duty on top of the two or three day shipping thru fedex. So audio cubes is doinig well for themselves to bring them in i suppose.

Yea, they are cheaper in Japan because they are made in Japan. Like grawk said, the price goes up when they export because they have more costs to cover (shipping, duties, etc). If you see the price drop to $230 where you live, that means they would cost like $180 or whatever, in Japan.

I think the point is that they are $310. before shiping and duties. We pay the shipping from Japan - that's where they ship directly to us from in the US, and if caught, we pay the duty.

If you're talking about the price if you order from someone like audiocubes, then what you're paying for is their support for you after the sale if something goes wrong. If you don't want to pay for the convenience, you can go to pricejapan.com or someone like that and pay a smaller fee.

Buying from overseas that would be a good thing.

Anyway, this kinda reminds me of when I compared AU headphone prices to US eBay prices ...

cancel if you can and import, chances are even with extortionate parcel force/royal mail charges (customs s peanuts copared to what those boys charge) you wil save ya self a fair old wedge, and then double it if ya think about what you have saved in American dollars lol

Yea, I agree. I meant that we can't expect goods in the US to be cheaper than they are elsewhere because our currency is weaker. Prices have gone up on a lot of phones that aren't made in the US.

I don't understand, why would they limit the market to Japan, when there are interested buyers worldwide? Wouldn't it mean more profit for them?
