I just ordered a pair of HD600's from HeadRoom. I figured, why not? You only live once, and I've been so curious about these headphones for the longest time.

This will be the most expensive pair of headphones that I have ever bought next to the AKG-K401.

So, I'm looking foward to hearing them through my OBH-11SE and HeadRoom Little.

I'd also be interested to know what you think of the Creek vs. Little comparison with your nice new phones.

Thanks!

Well, I figured with all the money I have spent on cheaper headphones, I may as well go for the best. Mostly, so I can prevent myself from buying more and more.

I rememember someone saying in an earlier thread; It's better to spend the money on one "great" headphone instead of wasting your money buying several "average" ones. That seems to be the case with me. So, I'm looking foward to the HD600's and hoping this will be the last pair of headphones I will buy for a very long time.

I agree with your logic Magic, but this is a case where theory and reality take different paths. Your wallet is not safe! You will now be searching for something that sounds better, or something that sounds almost as good but is cheaper so that you can take it traveling, something that enhances the sound of what you have, something......

But don't worry, it will be an enjoyable journey, I promise!

Hey Jude, you should put "Welcome to Head-Fi, sorry about your wallet" on the homepage. I don't know who started that one, but it is a great mantra.

magic, I know what you mean exactly, I got the HD495 thinking they'll last but then I got the 580 when I saw them selling at $70, and then I saw the HD600 for $170 so I got that. I should be just got the HD600 right away and that'll be the end of it as I know I'll never be able to afford the Stax omega or orphues.

Damn strait.

I bought HD495s and they sounded pretty good, but they weren't portable. I bought KSC35s that sounded great and were portable. I was happy for a little while. Then neither provided enough isolation, so I bought Etymotic ER4Ps and I was and still am extremely happy. Unfortunately, they are waaaay too detailed for gaming. The HD280 Pros came out and I did some reading here. I like my isolation and I like my bass, so they are currently breaking in to be my gaming cans to replace my HD495s. At this rate, I imagine that eventually I will buy an amp and the 4S upgrade cord for the Etys, then while I'm at it I'll buy Sennheiser HD600s to see if I like them better than Ets. Eventually I'll want to see what Grado sound is all about, and then it will be on to electrostatic.

Help me.

I definitely agree with you guys; The buying and searching will never end as long as you are into this hobby, but I really have to try not to spend as much right now before I go broke.

My HD600's will be arriving tomorrow from FedEx, so hopefully by Friday night or Saturday I'll let you know how I like them.
