- And the seller even lives only a bicycle trip away !! On a street I once lived on!

Right now I only have the d-ej925. Would this be a better source??

No, seriously, how does it compare to say, 541i??

Or the Marantz cd6000??

[edit: The ad also says that it is the "42 cm model"?? Is that good or bad??????]

The 502 is an excellent CD player. It originally sold for $300 around 1994-1995, and was a Stereophile Class C recommended component (the cheapest CD player to make the list).

It should be a major step up from your portable

For $45 you'd be silly not to buy it

A friend of mine has the 502. It's a pretty good player, maybe a bit aggressive. It doesn't really compare to the Marantz CD6000 or any other current CDP in that pricerange, but it's a LOT better than any portable. $45 isn't a bad price! Oh and 42 cm is the standard with for audio components..

I am the proud owner of two NAD 502s (110/220 V versions), and I can only sing its praises. When it came out it was unbelievable performance for the price, and for $45 it is even more unbelievable. When I first got mine and compared it to my $250 Sony CD Player it was like a veil had been lifted etc. etc.

The only minor caveat may be that initially they had kind of a reputation for limited reliability (especially the display). My first one developed a problem and was replaced by another unit, which has given me no trouble whatsoever. Neither has MacDef's 110V unit (thanks again). I think if you have a chance to check that it works, BUY BUY BUY. For $45 it is just a fantastic deal.

great lego!! Though i really have the feeling that the guy just couldn't throw it away and sold it cheaply... So I don't think he would lie about the condition.

I can't wait§!!

At that price - assuming it's functional - how can you go wrong. Especially if it has digital out (which I seem to recall that it does...but I could be wrong).

The 502 has a coax digital out (I use a converter to feed the optical in of my MD player).

And I, too would rather give away my CD player than throw it away or not use it.
