It was my understanding that the cowon a2 is one of the best sounding dap out there. when i run my cowon a2 with a pa2v2 and hd580 i get significantly more background distortion than when a run it through the my laptop 16 mb sound card (when i hook up the a2 to the laptop through usb, so it's the same recording---at 256 kbps). This is even more prounounced when i put it through the line out. Any remedy for this or am I doing something wrong?

I can only add that I have a X5L and it's very good, both by itself and as a source for the SR-71.

Have you disabled all EQ, bass boost, BBE etc and tried it? They all effect the Lineout as well.
